SAP2019 will be held at the Skukuza Conference Centre in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.
The Kruger National Park, located 400 km north east of Johannesburg, is one of the world’s largest game reserves covering almost 20,000 square kilometres, with all of the Big Five found here in abundance. It has many rest camps with accommodation. The conference will be held at the main rest camp, Skukuza, which is located on the Sabie River and has world-class conference facilities and accommodation. Note that all camps in the Kruger National Park are enclosed with an electrified fence.
Information on booking accommodation will be available soon.
Activities in the Kruger National Park include game drives (day or night), guided bush walks and even mountain biking. The roads within the park are in excellent condition and, whilst guided game drives are available, renting a car and driving around the park yourself is a highlight not to be missed. It is recommended that delegates spend additional time in the Kruger National Park before or after the conference and reserve accommodations at other rest camps as well.
The conference will be held during the rainy season, so expect thunderstorms. The average minimum and maximum temperatures should be around 20°C and 32°C respectively.
The Kruger National Park is a malaria area. Please consult your local travel clinic or doctor for recommendations on malaria prophylaxis and mosquito deterrent products.
